Sproost's privacy policy

By using Sproost you are agreeing to the collection and use of your personal information as described below. We will always notify active accounts of any material changes to this policy.

Sproost is focused on helping you enjoy your home. You trust Sproost to help you find the best home furnishings and we want to make sure you also trust Sproost with any information you provide to us. We know you care about how your personal information is used and shared and we take your privacy very seriously.

This Privacy Policy details Sproost's treatment of personal information that we gather when you are on the Sproost website and when you are sent to Sproost retail partners. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies or third parties that Sproost does not own or control nor does it apply to individuals that Sproost does not employ or manage.

Sproost doesn't need much — but what exactly do you collect?

Sproost collects and stores some of your personal information - but only information that you provide to us if you want to and only information that is directly related to Sproost's services. This includes your name, any email address you want to use, and a password. That's it. We use this information to customize the Sproost experience and to generally make things faster for you when you use Sproost (e.g. you don't have to log in on every page).

When you invite your friends and family to come to Sproost to view your designs we will send them an invitation but we do not store their email addresses. They get to choose to provide us with their information themselves. So invite away.

We may also collect certain information about site usage when you use Sproost. This can include traffic data on server logs from your browser including your IP address, Sproost cookie information, the page you requested, the website that referred you, and any information specific to your browser (e.g. Firefox or Internet Explorer). This traffic data helps us fix problems with our servers, helps us understand user trends, and generally helps us make Sproost run smoothly behind the scenes.

We may use some of this information to display advertising that we think you will like - we may show you sales or promotions from retailers who seem to have just what you like. We may also choose to refrain from showing you advertisements if we think you won't like them.

When you log into Sproost we may store information about your session and assign you one (or more) cookies which are stored by your browser on your computer. These contain an identification number that is unique to the computer you are using and allow us to keep you signed into Sproost until you log out or until you end your browsing session. Logging into Sproost allows you to view your stored home designs, modify them, and gather feedback from anyone you want on your designs.

Permanent cookie files remain on your computer's hard drive until you delete them. You can enable your browser to refuse cookies, but this may disable access to some services that we offer.

Sproost may sell advertising and may get referral fees from partners due to the services we provide to you on our site. Our retail and advertising partners often use a cookie or third party web beacon (a small pixel image) to track when a purchase occurs. But Sproost does not share any personal information that can identify you with any of our advertising partners.

Sharing of your Sproost information

The personal information that you chose to share with us will be treated with the utmost respect. We won't sell your information to anyone. An exception is in the event that Sproost as a company is sold. If this were to happen we would transfer your personal information to the buyers (so they can ensure Sproost continues to provide the same level of service to you). We will never look at your individual data unless you are having technical difficulties, it is required by law, or it is necessary to maintain our system.

Sproost may choose to share aggregated usage information with others. Rest assured that this information would not contain anything to identify you personally nor would it contain your identity.

Sproost email communications

Sproost takes email very seriously (email is serious stuff). We would never provide your email address to a third party.

You may receive notification emails from Sproost, but only if you choose to receive them. We'll always give you a choice about email and you can opt out any time. You may receive system emails (e.g. those regarding forgotten user passwords) and legal notices (e.g. updates to our policies) from us as long as you have a Sproost account. All Sproost emails are from a Sproost address and will always include an opt-out URL. We will never spam you and we will always strive to send you only emails that you find useful.

Children under 18 years of age

Sproost does not knowingly collect personal information from people under the age of 18. If we become aware of the fact that a minor is attempting to submit this information to Sproost, we will inform the minor that he or she is ineligible to do so and we will then remove this information from our records.

Third parties

We work with third parties to provide you the best experience we can, but their business policies may include different privacy policies and practices than Sproost's. When you click through to a third party website the Sproost privacy policies no longer apply. You should check out the privacy policies of our partners is you have any concerns.

What if something changes?

Sproost reserves the right to change or update this privacy policy at any time. If there are material changes to this statement we will post these changes prior to implementing them and we will notify you via email. If you have any questions about our privacy policies, please send us feedback.
