Today’s design is brought to you by the color yellow, warm feelings of joy, and the insatiable urge to take off your shoes and run through the grass. (Note, if no grass is available, remove shoes and scamper across concrete or carpet in gleeful defiance.)
First things first…a cozy all-purpose room from Apartment Therapy. This bedroom/living room combo is a great idea especially if you have a small space. By using yellow, it opens the room up. Well, that and the awesome high ceilings.
Not a morning person? You could be if you had a yellow kitchen like this New York pad. Also from Apartment Therapy.
This is a sophisticated take on a beach house look from Velvet & Linen.
It’s kind of yellow. And kind of green. But cheery nonetheless. I wish more people would paint their wood paneling actually. Thanks to Absolutely Beautiful Things for this great picture.
What about this nifty bathroom fro The Estate of Things? Just a simple yellow-striped curtain and voila! Rubber ducky happiness.
Now we’re talking! Yellows and grays and blacks always work well together and these rooms look very put together. I also really love this door.
Yellow pillows here and there add a nice touch. But with a neutral room like this, you can easily switch out the accent color when you want a new look.
In this shot they stacked yellow pillows on top of a vintage yellow sofa and it looks great. I wonder what other yellow accents they used in the room… to be honest, I don’t think any more yellow is needed.
Love the citrus color of the lamps in this bedroom - they look so great contrasted against the bright white walls & furniture. And the green blanket is a great compliment!
These people are not afraid of color. Could you do this in your house? Apartment Zero can show you how.
Here’s a great idea for a kid’s room…paint the ceiling! It makes me think of a circus tent…minus the elephant poo. Cool idea from Habitually Chic:
Here’s another from Habitually Chic and at first glance, you might not even notice the yellow loveseat but it’s there. Because it’s a lighter shade, it’s not overpowering.
Two cheers for the Swedes! They usually get my vote for the most unique ideas. And they have not failed me this week. Thanks, Purple Area.
This carpet is in serious need of some bare feet. Looks soft and warm. If you have neutral furniture, once again, you can swap out the pillows for a new look.
One lamp. On a mission to wake Mr. Pickles up every morning at 7:15. Success. You’re welcome, Remodelista.
Sit in me. Well, don’t mind if I do. Another bit of inspiration from Remodelista.
Today’s heaping helping of luxury by Cote de Texas, where all the ladies wear evening gowns and all the men open doors for you. Ahh.
