Now, some of you see the bathroom as a necessity, and while it certainly is, depending on your lifestyle, your personality, and your decorating skills, it can be much more. Let’s face it, we spend so much time in the bathroom, it might as well evoke happy feelings and look like something more than an outhouse. And I, for one, am not inspired by the thought of an outhouse and a makeshift turlet. These two Contemporary rooms are spacious and serene.
Here’s a fun fact for you. Sources say that the average person uses 20,000 to 40,000 sheets of toilet paper a year. That has nothing to do with these lovely Cottage Chic rooms below, but I just thought you should be informed.
Another fun fact…since we’re practically family anyway…the average person visits the bathroom 6-8 times a day. Yet another reason your bathroom should look nice! These two are French Eclectic.
In your lifetime, you will spend three years of your life on the throne. That does not count bathing, shaving, singing, modeling, playing scrabble on your iPod, or anything else you might do in the bathroom. Though in these Hollywood Style rooms, you could probably have a nice music video photo shoot. Just sayin’.
In your household, you might have other names for this room. Here are some popular ones: The Loo, the W.C., powder room, restroom, Toot Suite, and a handful of others that are too crass to share. If you like Mediterranean, these are for you.
You might also have some not so fun memories of your bathroom. I’m sure plenty of you have fallen into the potty because someone left the seat up. An even better chance that someone has walked in on you while taking care of business. I myself have fond memories of dropping a baby tooth down the sink as a wee kid and then bawling my eyes out because I wouldn’t be able to give it to the Tooth Fairy. Thankfully, the Fairy left the goods anyway. Some of you have no doubt dropped rings, phones, goldfish (accidentally, of course), keys, clothes, and money. Love these Rustic Revival bathrooms.
